Graphene Flagship Core Project 3
“Graphene-based disruptive technologies”
Grant agreement No 881603, H2020-SGA-FET-GRAPHENE-2019 (2020-2023).
The Graphene Flagship is a scientific research initiative funded by the European Commission. With a budget of €1 billion, it represents a new form of joint, coordinated research initiative on an unprecedented scale. Its aims are to take graphene and two-dimensional materials from laboratories to the European society to stimulate economic growth and create new jobs. The Graphene Flagship’s research effort covers the entire value chain – from materials production to components and system integration – and aims at developing applications in the areas of flexible electronics, printed electronics, 5G mobile technologies, batteries, aerospace, medical applications, filtration and automotive.
The EU-funded GrapheneCore3 project aims to secure a major role for Europe in the ongoing technological revolution, helping to bring graphene innovation out of the lab and into commercial applications by 2023. In its third core project, the Graphene Flagship gathers over 160 academic and industrial partners from 23 countries, all exploring different aspects of graphene and related materials. Bringing diverse competencies together, the Graphene Flagship facilitates cooperation between its partners, accelerating the timeline for industry acceptance of graphene technologies.
